Growing Information
Choose a sunny position and sow thinly into warm, moist soil in pots, covering the seed lightly and firming the soil gently. Thin seedlings to around 3cm (1″) apart. Grow on keeping the soil moist. Take the first ‘clipping’ with scissors 14-20 days from sowing. Harvest the seedlings some 3cm (1″) above the soil to allow new leaf growth. Repeat this process 2-3 times, we recommend a fortnightly sowing to ensure mini salads throughout the summer. For the best taste harvest leaves at a young stage. Choose a sunny position and sow thinly into a finely raked, warm, moist soil in pots in bands approx. 9cm (3 1?2″) wide, covering the seed lightly and firming the soil gently. Thin resulting seedlings if required to around 3cm (1″) apart. Grow on keeping the soil moist. It should be possible to take the first ‘clipping’; with scissors 14-20 days from sowing. Harvest the seedlings some 3cm (1″) above the soil to allow the young plants to produce new leaf growth.
