We suggest comparing the features of the models you are considering so that you can ensure your machine has enough capacity to cope with the washing in your household. Washer dryers tend to have a slightly lower capacity for drying cycles than standalone tumble dryers, and it is important to bear this in mind and avoid overloading your machine as this will shorten its life.

When you’re doing the laundry, you’ll want to protect your garments as much as possible and you can do this by separating your whites and your colours and washing these at the optimum temperatures. If your garments are not especially dirty, it is a good idea to wash them at thirty degrees Celsius to avoid damaging the fabrics. You may need to check washing instructions more carefully when you have a washer-dryer as some fabrics cannot be tumble-dried and this will mean you need to remove them after the washing cycle has finished. Some models offer a complete wash-dry cycle, which will save you even more time, but you should ensure that all items in the load are suitable for tumble drying.
