Cal Flavins Topline and Euronics is a hardware electrical business rooted in the local community. Employing 14 local people, we specialise in the home essentials you need to enjoy living in Youghal. As a third generation family business, we recognise the importance of great customer service, and we pride ourselves on welcoming you to our friendly and informative store.
What we do
We stock a wide variety of products, including housewares, hardware, timber, fencing, plumbing, stoves, paint, fishing, electrical, TVs, fridges, and washing machines. Our aim is to provide you with the essentials you need, and make the shopping experience as easy as possible. Our convenient car park – just behind the shop – has access from Grattan Street; but we also offer a delivery service as a further convenience to our customers.
The local community
We love being at the heart of a community like Youghal. Our customers are loyal friends and we pride ourselves on being part of daily life here. To show our appreciation to the people of Youghal and the surrounding areas for their ongoing support, we regularly sponsor local fundraising efforts and initiatives.
Our history
Cal Flavins was founded in 1961, building on the foundations laid by Nicholas Flavin & Sons Ltd., an ironmonger and hardware retailer. Over the years, Cal Flavins responded to the needs of the locality, and expanded to include further departments. This included a TV section, and an Electrical department. Now in its third generation, Cal Flavins extended again in 2003, doubling in size. This allowed the provision of a dedicated TV & Kitchen Appliance department on the first floor.
The Topline & Euronics buying groups
Cal Flavins took the opportunity to grow further by joining the Topline group in the 1990s, and an Electrical buying group a few years later. Cal Flavins have now joined Euronics, the largest electrical retailer in Europe. They provide everything from home appliances to smart home gadgets. Being part of the Topline and Euronics groups brings us far greater buying power and access to many more brands, including leading names such as Apple, Samsung, Electrolux, Beko, Bosch ,Kenwood, DeLonghi, LG, Lenovo, Fitbit, Garmin and many more. This allows us to compete with national and international chain stores, while remaining independently owned, local, and able to give excellent personalised service.
